As an owner-managed family business in its third generation, we have always planned with future generations in mind. This starts with the selection of our wood and the special raw material-efficient production of our particle boards, continues with many small and large energy-saving and climate protection projects and ends with respectful, responsible corporate management. What is sustainability?

Why is wood sustainable?

Wood grows by itself, removes CO₂ from the atmosphere as it grows and then binds it as harmless carbon for its entire product life cycle.

Why are the particle boards from Sauerland Spanplatte sustainable?

We produce our particle boards and bearers from wood residues from the surrounding sawmills. This means that this valuable raw material is reused and not burned to generate energy. Using wood from sustainable forestry is a top priority for us. The tubes also ensure that we can produce more particle boards from less raw material.

What does circular economy mean?

Circular economy is a way of producing and consuming in which materials and products are kept in the usage cycle for as long as possible – through long-term use, repair, reusability or recycling.

What is ISO 50001?

The international standard ISO 50001 helps companies to set up systematic energy management. The aim is to save energy and CO₂.

What is a Code of Conduct?

As part of sustainable corporate management, companies pass on sustainable guidelines to their suppliers and business partners. These guidelines are defined in a Code of Conduct.
